Monaco in Torreira talks

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Monaco are now in talks with Arsenal over signing Lucas Torreira on loan.

The midfielder, who is currently with Atletico Madrid, hasn’t been able to make an impact at the Emirates with many believing its just a matter of time before he leaves on a permanent basis. However, this idea would see Atletico cut his loan deal short in order for him to make his way over to Ligue 1.

Edu himself has admitted that he has a few concerns over the future of Torreira who, it’s safe to say, still has the ability to make some noise in the top European leagues – so long as he can play consistent first team football.

It was reported as recently as yesterday that Monaco were one of many teams in the running to try and sign Torreira, but if it’s just a loan, he’ll need to act fast if he wants to make a real statement.
