Monaco join chase for Tiago Ilori

Monaco are the latest club to have expressed interest in Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori, A Bola has revealed.

The talented footballer continues to be linked with a summer exit as top European clubs keep casting admiring glances his way.

According to A Bola, the Lions are prepared to cash in on the 20-year-old centre-back, having slapped a €7 million price tag on their starlet.

Napoli and Tottenham have been keeping close tabs on Ilori for a while now, but it looks as though Monaco have joined the long list of suitors as well.

Tiago Ilori came through the youth ranks at Sporting, but he has only recently started showing his potential.

The stopper started last season playing for club’s B side, making 20 appearances for Sporting II before being promoted to the first team set up.

Ilori in turn started no less than 11 Primeira Liga matches for the Lions and scored one goal in the process.
