Mega-spending Monaco are considering an offer for Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, the Express understands.
The Belgium international was linked with both the Ligue 1 side and Barcelona during the summer though neither side made a bid though the former are ready to do so when the transfer window reopens in January.
The 27 year old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Hamburg in 2008, and has since won the FA Cup and the Premier League.
He has missed the last three games with a thigh injury, but could return for Saturday lunchtime’s trip to Newcastle United, where Manuel Pellegrini’s men will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at Chelsea yesterday afternoon, a result which saw them drop to seven place in the Premier League table.
City are now available at a price of 12/5 to reclaim the championship from rivals Manchester United, who currently sit one place and two points below them in the division.
