French giants Monaco are pondering a move for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, according to A Bola.
The Principality club have just announced the signing of James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho from Porto, but they are looking to lure another high-profile player from Estadio do Dragao.
Monaco are showing interest in highly rated defender Eliaquim Mangala, but they will have to delve deep into their pockets if they want to sign the Frenchman.
Having earned €70 million from the aforementioned transfers, the Dragons don’t need to sell any more star players, meaning the defender can leave only if the French club meet his €50 million release clause.
That may be a lot of money to pay for a 22-year-old defender, but Mangala has developed into one of Europe’s top centre-backs since joining Porto from Standard Liege.
The France international has clocked up 23 Primeira Liga appearances this term, scoring 4 goals in the process.
