Ligue 1 leaders Monaco have emerged as favourites to recruit RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, Le 10 Sport can reveal.
The Principality club are almost certain to stay without key midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko in the summer, while Fabinho is also being linked with a summer exit.
As a result, Monaco are on the lookout for a new holding midfielder and Naby Keita has emerged as their primary target.
The 22-year-old only joined the Bundesliga high-flyers in the summer from Red Bull Salzburg, but he has largely impressed in his first season in Germany.
Keita has produced 4 goals and 6 assists in 20 Bundesliga appearances this term, helping his side climb to second in the overall standings.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the Guinea international, but Monaco are clearly in pole position as they are already preparing a formal offer for their target.
