The 19-year-old Anderlecht starlet Youri Tielemans has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in European football this season.
Some of the continent’s biggest clubs have already been alarmed by Tielemans’ imposing talent with Premier League title challengers Chelsea believed to have made an approach to sign the Belgium international.
The latest reports from the French media outlet L’Equipe, however, claim that Ligue 1 hotshots AS Monaco have taken the pole position in race to sign the quality midfielder who has been scouted by the likes of Bayern Munich, AS Roma, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Youri Tielemans has been making huge strides with Anderlecht this season, excelling on the biggest stage despite his tender age. The talented teenager was even entrusted with the captain’s armband in Europa League this term, where he impressed for the Belgian giants.
Tielemans has made 11 Europa League appearances for his club this season, contributing to his club’s exploits and is expected to be leading his team forward against Manchester United in the quarter-final of the competition.
The Belgium international has also been the mainstay for his club in the First Division A where he made 29 appearances for Anderlecht, scoring 13 goals in the process.
