French newspaper L’Equipe understands that Monaco are set to launch a final assault on Sevilla starlet Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The Principality Club have made the French midfielder their number one target, and have already had a €15 million bid rejected for the highly rated footballer.
However, the mere fact rich club owner Dmitry Rybolovlev has decided to oversee the transfer talks is enough to suggest Monaco are not yet ready to give up on the player.
Kondogbia joined Sevilla last summer from Lens and he largely impressed in his maiden La Liga campaign.
The 20-year-old made no less than 31 league appearances for los Rojiblancos, scoring one goal in the process.
Kondogbia then went on to impress at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, establishing an excellent midfield partnership with Juventus’ Paul Pogba and helping France lift the coveted title with 2 goals in 7 appearances.
He has since been linked with a plethora of top European clubs, but Monaco seem to be leading the chase at the moment.
