French giants Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain are locked in the battle for the signature of talented forward Kylian Mbappe, Le Parisien has claimed.
The 17-year-old had become a hot commodity even before making his first team debut for the Principality club, and he has so far made five substitute appearances in Ligue 1, scoring his first goal two days ago in the 3-1 triumph over Troyes.
Mbappe has yet to sign a professional contract with the club and seeing that he has been on the radar of top European sides, a summer exit seemed a realistic possibility.
League rivals Paris Saint-Germain were believed to lead the chase for the talented footballer, but Monaco have now made their move as well.
The Principality club are set to resume talks with the player’s representatives as they have not given up hope of keeping hold of their prized asset.
Given the circumstances, Monaco will have to offer the youngster a decent salary as well as a hefty signing bonus.
