Ligue 1 leaders Monaco seem to have reignited their interest in Benfica midfielder Luis Miguel Alfonso Fernandes, commonly known as Pizzi.
Portugal media outlet Abola report that the Principality club are ready to come back with an offer for the 27-year-old Portugal international this summer, after initially recording interest for the player during the winter transfer market.
Monaco have set their sights on one of Europe’s biggest midfield talents Youri Tielemans, but Abolsa claim that the French club is not ready to give up on their long-term target either.
Pizzi has been one of the most influential players for Benfica this season. The midfielder made 28 Primeira Liga appearances thus far, scoring 9 goals in the process while he also played great part in Benfica’s European exploits with 8 Champions League matches added to his tally.
Benfica midfielder is under contract with Eagles until 2022 and his release clause has been set on €40 million.
