Monaco sign Brazilian starlet

French giants Monaco have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Boschilia from Sao Paulo on their official website.

It is believed the Principality club paid around €9 million for the player who shone at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand earlier this summer.

The 19-year-old signed a five-year deal at Stade Louis II, thus becoming club’s 11th signing of the summer transfer window.

Gabriel came through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo and went on to make 36 league appearances for the Brazilian giants, scoring 4 goals in the process.

He was one of country’s star performers at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand, bagging two goals in seven appearances to help Brazil finish as runners-up.

Impressive performances at the tournament finals helped Gabriel earn a lucrative move to Monaco and he will now have the opportunity to prove his worth in one of Europe’s top leagues.
