Monaco midfielder Namaplys Mendy has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, according to L’Equipe.
The talented footballer was believed to have agreed a Bosman deal with Nice after refusing to extend his contract at Stade Louis II, but he may not be joining les Aiglons after all.
With the transfer yet to be made official, L’Equipe reports that Mendy has been the subject of interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils have invited the player for a tour of Old Trafford when he returns from international duty, which is enough to suggest they are seriously considering a bid for his services.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at Monaco and has already made a total of 74 league appearances for the Principality club.
Monaco boss Claudio Ranieri did everything he could to keep hold of the talented midfielder and recently said that he reminded him of Claude Makelele.
