According to a recent report from France Football, Ligue 1 giants Monaco are more than willing to take up the option to sign Leicester City star Islam Slimani on a permanent basis. Slimani has already scored four goals and assisted four in five games up to this point, leading Monaco to believe that he could be the shining light that boosts their chances of going after the title once again.
It is going to cost them a fee of around £9 million in order to get the deal over the finish line, but given how both teams are performing this season, it seems like this could soon become a real possibility.
After all, Leicester seem to be performing pretty well without Slimani on their books, and manager Brendan Rodgers hasn’t even hinted at the idea of him returning to the first team.
There are still plenty of different directions that this saga could turn in, but for now, Islam’s future seems to be away from the Foxes.
