French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Monaco are closing in on Lyon youngster Jordy Gaspar.
The 20-year-old was never given a real chance to shine at Parc OL and he is determined to leave the club when his contract expires in June.
Monaco officials, on the other hand, believe that Gaspar has the potential to develop into a quality footballer and they hope to bring him to Stade Louis II in the summer.
Their approach is unlikely to go down well with les Gones, but they appear set to respond in the same manner.
Namely, Lyon are readying a contract offer for Monaco youngster Jason Mbock, who has impressed playing for the Under-19 side, but will also be a free agent in the summer unless he agrees to a new deal at Stade Louis II.
The 17-year-old is a left-footed centre forward who has shown a great deal of potential in recent months.
