Monaco want Pepe

According to a report from France Football, AS Monaco are said to be very interested in signing Pepe. The 35 year old Portugal international recently left his role with Turkish side Besiktas, to the surprise of many fans. His agent Jorge Mendes is said to be close with Monaco’s president, which could easily open the door for a move there.

The controversial veteran defender has been heavily linked with a move here, there and everywhere, including English side Wolverhampton Wanderers. While his future is still up in the air a move to Monaco would make sense, especially if he’s looking for one final big pay day before retirement.

Pepe was with Real for ten years and enjoyed a great deal of success there, in the wake of his three years with Portuguese side Porto.

Monaco are currently struggling towards the bottom of the Ligue 1 table under the guidance of new manager Thierry Henry.
