AS Roma transfer guru Monchi has made it clear the club will not be signing any new players in the winter transfer window.
The former Sevilla sporting director has helped the Giallorossi enjoy a strong start to the season with several shrewd signings in the summer, and he was expected to add few more footballers in January.
However, Monchi doesn’t believe AS Roma need new players at the moment, as he expects soon-to-be fit-again Patrik Schick and Emerson to provide a major boost.
“Our January signings will be Schick, Emerson and the other players that haven’t lived up to expectations on the pitch yet,” Monchi told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This team are close to the standards of performance that Di Francesco has in mind, but we still have room for improvement.”
AS Roma occupy fourth place in the overall standings, with a game in hand, and they are priced at 13/1 to lift the Serie A title.
