Monreal extension at Real Sociedad?

According to a recent report from Marca, former Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal is in talks over a contract extension with Real Sociedad.

Monreal, at the age of 34, is a veteran at the back and seems to be enjoying his stay in Spain after a poor end to his six-year tenure with the Gunners. Many players have left the Emirates and gone on to do bigger and brighter things after their time in North London came to an end, and Monreal fits into that category.

In fact, Sociedad as a whole have quite a lot to be excited about as we look ahead to their immediate future. They’re in 6th place in La Liga, they have a hungry squad at their disposal, and they could easily be seen as one of the rising forces in Spanish football.

As it turns out, Monreal could prove to be a really big part of that if he does end up extending his contract.
