Nacho Monreal has said that would like to extend his stay at Arsenal beyond next summer, according to the Mirror.
The Spain international is heading into the final year of his current deal and has been linked with a return to his home country, with Athletic Bilbao interested in securing his services.
However, after establishing himself as the Gunners’ first choice left back in the second half of the recently concluded campaign, the 29 year old has insisted that he is happy in North London.
Since signing from Malaga, Monreal has racked up eighty-six appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals – one which came against Manchester United on Arsenal’s road to FA Cup glory.
He played the entirety of Saturday’s victory over Aston Villa at Wembley, with Arsene Wenger’s men lifting the cup for a second successive season.
No team has won the FA Cup three times in a row since Blackburn Rovers 130 years ago, and Arsenal can be backed at 8/1 to win again next May.
