Arsenal have opened contract talks with Nacho Monreal, according to Sky Sports.
The Spanish full-back has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona but now could be set to extend his stay at the North London club.
He moved to the Emirates Stadium from Malaga in January 2013 and has since racked up two hundred and fifteen appearances in all competitions, scoring ten goals – six of which came last season.
The thirty-two-year-old also opened his account for this campaign in last month’s 3-1 win over West Ham United.
He was part of the squads that won the FA Cup in 2014, 2015 and 2017 while internationally he finished as a runner-up in the 2013 Confederations Cup.
He also went to this summer’s World Cup finals though failed to add to his twenty-two international appearances at the tournament while the only goal he has scored for his country came in a 4-0 win over Macedonia in qualifying almost two years ago.
