Roma manager Vincenzo Montella was pleased with the efforts of his players after they defeated Chievo 1-0 on Saturday.
Simone Perrotta’s goal after four minutes was all that separated the two sides, as Roma moved within four points of fourth-placed Lazio on the Serie A table.
“I saw a compact team today, a team that expressed quality and ideas of play,” Montella said afterwards.
“All the players played well, both in defence and in attack. They played with determination and it wasn’t easy, not easy in the situation we had to face today, against such a well organised opponent.”
“I saw great responses from our players, both individually and as a group. I’m really very happy about that.”
