Fiorentina midfielder Ricardo Montolivo has denied speculations that he has already agreed to join Milan in the summer.
The Italian international is set to leave Artemio Franchi when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old was offered a contract extension by Viola officials, but he decided to break off negotiations as he is eager to join a bigger club.
Speaking on a visit to a pediatric hospital, the player confirmed that he would be leaving Florence in the summer.
“At the end of the season I will very likely leave Florence, albeit with great disappointment.”
Montolivo then moved to deny reports that he is currently in talks with AC Milan.
“There has not been any offer from Milan, so I don’t know what my future will be.”
Montolivo developed into one of the best Serie A midfielders after joining Fiorentina from Atalanta in August 2005 and he is regarded as an important member of the national team as well.
The 27-year-old has been struggling for form this season, scoring just one goal and creating two assists in 19 Serie A games.
