Barcelona defender Martin Montoya is about to sign a new long-term contract at Camp Nou, reports El Mundo Deportivo.
The talented full-back will be out of contract in the summer, which has led to speculations linking him with a move away from the club.
Inter Milan and Liverpool were among clubs that attempted to recruit Montoya on a Bosman deal, but it appears they are set to miss out on the Spain Under-21 international.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are set to reach an agreement with the player’s representatives over a new contract.
The Catalans see Montoya as a good long-term successor to Dani Alves and the 22-year-old has made quite a few first team appearances over the last two seasons.
After featuring in 15 La Liga games last term, the full-back has already made 10 league outings this season, starting nine of those fixtures.
Meanwhile, Barcelona remain 5/4 favourites to defend the league title despite sitting three points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
