Ligue 1 side Montpellier have all but confirmed reports linking star midfielder Remy Cabella with a summer move away from the club.
The 23-year-old is followed by a host of Europe’s top clubs, but it appears that he will not be leaving la Paillade in January.
However, Montpellier chief Laurent Nicollin has admitted that the midfielder will be sold at the end of the current campaign.
“At the moment, he is here. We do not expect him to leave in January,” Laurent Nicollin told Radio Monte Carlo.
“There was a discussion about a possible departure in June. There is an agreement in principle.”
Nicollin has also rejected speculations that they are in talks with Newcastle over the player’s move to St James’ Park.
Remy Cabella exploded onto the big stage during the past year and a half, having developed into one of league’s top attacking midfielders.
Since returning from a loan spell at Arles, the youngster has made a total of 78 Ligue 1 appearances for Montpellier, scoring 16 goals in the process.
The France Under-21 international is heavily tipped to earn his first senior cap in the coming months.
