Montpellier keen on Luis Leal

Ligue 1 side Montpellier are keeping close tabs on Estoril forward Luis Leal, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

La Paillade have largely struggled since the departure of coach Rene Girard and currently sit in 16th place in the overall standings.

The club are, therefore, eager to reinforce the squad in January and they are reportedly planning a swoop on Estoril forward Luis Leal.

A Bola has suggested that Montpellier had the player watched in the weekend’s Taca de Portugal victory over Famalicao, although he was only  on the pitch in the final 15 minutes.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring 3 goals in 9 Primeira Liga appearances, but it appears he will soon be leaving Estoril for a bigger club.

Namely, Leal has a contract until the end of the current campaign and is likely to be sold in the January transfer window, with Montpellier in pole position.
