As they prepare to lose the Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette this summer, Lyon are reportedly willing to do business with the Gunners given the fact they are eyeing Olivier Giroud as Lacazette replacement.
The French media outlet L’Equipe reports that both Lyon and Montpellier have expressed their interest in bringing Olivier Giroud back to France in attempt to further raise the profile of the Ligue 1.
A potential arrival of the French international would definitely direct plenty of attention to the French domestic competition, but most importantly allow out-of-sorts Gunners striker to revive his career after losing his place in the team towards the end of the last season.
The 30-year-old forward made only 11 Premier League starts and amassed 18 appearances in total for Gunners this term. He still managed to bag 12 goals and provide 3 assists in what has been an underwhelming season for the striker.
West Ham were reportedly prepared to break the bank in order to land Giroud, but Montpellier and Lyon could present themselves as more attractive and more competitive challenges for the experienced French international.
