Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Paraguayan striker Lucas Barrios from Spartak Moscow.
The former Borussia Dortmund star arrives at the club on a season-long loan following a disappointing start to his career in Russia.
After enjoying two very successful seasons with the Millionaires, Barrios surprised everyone by joining Chinese side Guangzhou, and that proved to be a poor career move.
The Paraguayan went on to score mere five goals in 17 league matches and was eventually sold to Spartak last summer.
But, with the experienced forward notching just one goal in fifteen league appearances last season, he was allowed to leave Moscow and sign a season-long loan with Montpellier.
Having come from the bench to score the final goal in the 4-0 triumph over Rubin Kazan in his only appearance this term, Barrios will be hoping there will be more of the same in French Ligue 1.
