Canadian side Montreal Impact have announced the imminent signing of Swiss midfielder Blerim Dzemaili from Bologna.
The experienced footballer was supposed to join the MLS club at the end of the season in Europe, but he will instead move to Montreal Impact in the coming days.
Dzemaili is set to occupy a Designated Player slot and he will be available for selection subject to passing a medical and acquiring Canadian work permit.
The 31-year-old spent the majority of his career in Italian Serie A, representing Torino, Parma, Napoli, Genoa and Bologna, while also enjoying spells with Zurich, Bolton and Galatasaray.
Dzemaili has been one of Felsinei’s star performers this season, bagging 8 goals in 31 Serie A outings, but he eventually decided to embark on a new challenge.
The Switzerland international joins Montreal Impact on loan, but this could eventually lead to a permanent transfer.
