MLS side Montreal Impact have announced the arrival of Finnish defender Jukka Raitala and Canadian midfielder Raheem Edwards in the expansion draft ahead of the new season.
Aiming to improve the overall quality of the team the club management decided to trade defender Laurent Ciman for a pair of players who were initially selected by Los Angeles FC on Tuesday night.
Jukka Raitala arrives from Columbus Crew where he made 28 appearances during 2017. Having made 20 starts for his first-ever MLS side, Raitala registered 2 assists and total of 1,920 minutes of competitive action.
The 29-year-old midfielder boasts great international experience, having already played for the likes of Hoffenheim, Osasuna and Heerenveen.
Raheem Edwards scored a goal and made six assists for Toronto FC in 2017. The talented 22-year-old Canada international made two appearances for his country thus far, making his senior appearance in Montreal earlier in 2017.
