French daily newspaper L’Equipe claims that Montreal Impact are set to complete the signing of experienced defender Rod Fanni.
The 36-year-old recently had his contract with Marseille terminated some four months ahead of time and he now looks set for a free transfer to the MLS.
Montreal Impact wasted no time after learning that Fanni had become a free agent, and they have reportedly already agreed a deal.
The veteran defender fared pretty well last season, making 28 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille, but he didn’t make a single outing for the club this term.
Having spent the majority of his professional career in France, Fanni will relish the opportunity to test his skills in Major League Soccer.
