(GSM) – Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has told Inter’s young striker Mario Balotelli that it’s time to prove himself in the team.
The precocious Italy Under-21 international has been dropped from Inter’s last three match squads after a spat with Jose Mourinho.
Moratti was asked if he thinks it’s time Balotelli started justifying his place at Inter, “Absolutely yes. He needs to put himself back on the wagon immediately. Now we need his contribution and he has to give it.”
“When and how is up to Mourinho,” he said.
Moratti then denied being worried after Inter’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Palermo on Saturday.
Inter President shared his views, “I saw the best 20 or 25 minutes of the season from Inter in Palermo. We scored. We could have doubled our lead. And in the end, despite everything, we have tried again, pushing with three strikers plus Sneijder.”
“I am calm and proud of a team that obviously knows how to get back to business after carrying a big game like that against Chelsea on its shoulders,” he explained.
“Sure now it’s necessary to rediscover the victory also in the championship, otherwise all other arguments can fall away,” he concluded.
