Moratti drops Forlan, Lavezzi hints
Inter president Massimo Moratti has hinted that the Neroazzurri will try to sign Diego Forlan and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The Inter president has revealed that Samuel Eto’o is set to complete his move to Anzhi.
“If and when he leaves then I will miss him a lot, as a player and a person,” Moratti told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He is going because of the financial fair play rules and because when you get an offer like that it’s hard to refuse it.”
Moratti then ruled out moves for Carlos Tevez and Giuseppe Rossi.
“Will Manchester City’s Tevez come in? I don’t think we will get him.
“Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal? We never thought of him, we’re looking for a player with different characteristics.”
However, the Inter chief did admit interest in Diego Forlan and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
“Diego Forlan? Ezequiel Lavezzi? These are the names on which we are working – we are watching, exploring, we’ll see.”
Leonardo lines up Ancelotti to take over at PSG
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo wants former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti to take over the reigns at Parc des Princes.
Despite the new owners spending around 100 million euros on new players this summer, the Saints have started the season slowly, having taken just one point from first two league games.
Coach Antoine Kombouare is under fire at the moment as everybody expects Paris Saint-Germain to fight for the title and everything suggests that the technician is set to get the boot.
According to L’Equipe, sporting director Leonardo is eager for Carlo Ancelotti to take over from the former Valenciennes boss.
The Brazilian has already contacted the former Chelsea boss and the Italian is reportedly interested in becoming a part of the PSG project.
Leonardo has worked with Ancelotti at Milan from 2001 to 2009, during which time the pair has built a strong understanding.
This is exactly why the PSG owners believe Leonardo will be able to persuade Ancelotti into accepting the offer from the Saints.
Marseille chief: Ayew not for sale, Valbuena can go
Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has informed Arsenal that forward Andre Ayew is not for sale.
The Gunners have shown interest in Andre Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena, but Marseille chief insists the Ghanaian will not be allowed to leave this summer.
“Andre Ayew is not for sale. It is correct that he has a clause in his contract, but that clause was valid until a certain date and that day has already passed,” Anigo told RMC.
“If clubs want to buy him now, they’d have to pay another fee than that clause. Andre still has plenty to achieve at Marseille.”
On the other hand, Anigo is prepared to open talks with interested clubs for Mathieu Valbuena.
“Mathieu has been with this club for six years and we’re willing to open talks if Arsenal want to buy him.
“We are very pleased with his performances, but we’re ready to listen to offers out of respect for the player.
”However, we have not had contact with Arsenal. Not about Mathieu and not about Andre either.”
Both Andre Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena have three years left on their contracts at Velodrome.
