Inter president Massimo Moratti believes Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino will manage to overturn his suspension.

Gilardino was handed a two-game ban for using his hand to score against Palermo on Sunday.

Inter face Fiorentina on Wednesday in the Serie A and Gilardino could miss the match should he fail with his appeal.

“Gilardino will be there on Wednesday night,” Moratti predicted.

“I’m convinced that Alberto won’t miss the Fiorentina-Inter game because the disciplinary commission will reconsider their decision.

“They will come to realise that suspending the player is not the right decision.

“In a situation like this, the officials should have just disallowed the goal and so it isn’t the player’s fault.”
