(GSM) – Internazionale president Massimo Moratti believes his players are looking forward to the opportunity to get revenge over Barcelona in the Champions League.

Inter booked a place in the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition last night with an efficient 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow in Russia.

Jose Mourinho’s side have now won their last five games in the Champions League, although they drew and lost to Barca in the group stages.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Moratti was asked if Barcelona represent a step up in the difficulty level with respect to CSKA.

“But it will be so fascinating,” he said. “And I think that every one of our players were hoping for it such is their motivation for revenge.

“This Inter side has a different value with respect to that of the group stages. We have just underlined that. And every one of my players will be conscious of it.”

Reflecting on last night’s performance, Moratti said: “Even before the goal, I had seen wonderfully decisive pieces of play. The merits of the coaching seemed clear to me.

“There was a lot of Mourinho’s work in that performance.”
