Moratti lines up Guardiola for Inter job; Juve raising cash for assault on Nilmar

Moratti lines up Guardiola for Inter job

Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola has met with Inter president Massimo Moratti, according to Tuttosport.

The talented coach traveled to Italy to visit his former club Brescia, but he reportedly also met with Moratti to discuss the Inter job.

Leonardo’s position at Inter has come under intense scrutiny following the 5:2 defeat to Schalke and the Brazilian could be sacrificed at the end of the season.

The Inter patron sees Pep Guardiola as the man who can bring glory to Giuseppe Meazza and he has already discussed that possibility with the Barcelona coach.

Guardiola is under contract at Barcelona until June 2012, but he has recently stated that he plans to leave Camp Nou very soon.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 40-year-old, meaning that Barca chiefs face a real battle to keep hold of their boss.

Guardiola is looking for a new challenge after winning numerous silverware with Barcelona and he is reportedly willing to listen to offers.

Juve raising cash for assault on Nilmar

Juventus plan to raise the cash needed to sign Santos striker Nilmar by selling their own players, according to Il Correire dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are planning a major squad overhaul in the summer and they are hoping to bring at least one world-class player in addition to several cheaper options.

The Old Lady are now planning an assault on Santos striker Neymar and they hope to raise the amount needed to buy the Brazilian by selling several fringe players.

Santos are reportedly holding out for €30 million, meaning that Juventus will have to sell at least three or four players to raise enough money.

The Bianconeri are hoping to sell Vincenzo Iaquinta, Momo Sissoko and Amauri next summer before launching an official bid for the Santos striker.

However, Juventus face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are also keen on the 19-year-old.

Even though Santos president is doing everything he can to persuade Neymar that his future lies at the club, it is very likely that the Brazilian will be forced to sell their most prized asset to the highest bidder in the summer.

La Liga star cools off transfer talk

Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has rejected claims that he will be leaving the club at the end of the summer.

The Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Llorente insists he is happy at San Mames.

“My future lies with this club. I’ve always said this is the case and nothing’s changed. My current contract runs two more years and I’m feeling very relaxed,” Llorente told AS.

“I’m feeling very well here and I don’t care that my eventual contract extension could be used in the upcoming presidential elections.”

Llorente will have a great chance to impress his potential employers when his Athletic play host to Real Madrid on Saturday.

“It will be a tough game as Real Madrid won’t give up on the title just yet. I’m sure that Mourinho’s men will be keen to get a good result.

“We play at home though and will give our all to get something from this game.”

The 26-year-old striker has progressed a great deal at San Mames, while becoming a fixture in Spain national team and it appears that he is ready for a move to one of the European giants.
