Romania's injury woes continued on Monday with strikers Daniel Niculae and Ciprian Marica both ruled out of the 2010 World Cup qualifier midweek against the Faroe Islands.

VfB Stuttgart's Marica suffered a right hip injury and Niculae, who has been recovering from an adductor injury, has been ruled out for family reasons.

Defender Gabriel Tamas is also doubtful with a right ankle problem.

Captain Cristi Chivu and striker Adrian Mutu are recovering from injuries and have not been selected while midfielder Banel Nicolita also took a knock just before their tie against Lithuania.

Romania suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at home to Lithuania last week and will play France on October 11 in Constanta.
