Lazio have completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Moritz Leitner, the Bundesliga side announced on their official Twitter account.
The 23-year-old was unable to secure regular playing time at Signal-Iduna Park and he hopes he will fare much better in Italian Serie A.
Lazio decided to make a move on Leitner after cashing in on Ogenyi Onazi and they were able to quickly agree deal with both the player and his employers.
Leitner has shown a great deal of potential since coming through the youth ranks at 1860 Munich, and he has so far amassed no fewer than 91 Bundesliga appearances.
The central midfielder featured in just nine league matches last term, starting two of those games, and it is hardly surprising the club didn’t want to stand in his way this summer.
Leitner becomes Lazio’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of Jordan Lukaku, Ciro Immobile and Wallace.
