Manchester United prospect Ravel Morrison has denied turning down an offer of a new contract, despite Sir Alex Ferguson’s claim he had.
The 18-year-old midfielder is thought to be holding out for a significant increase to his current wage of 1200 pounds per week, but the United boss last week branded the talented youngster’s demands as ‘unrealistic’.
Following his manager’s claims and a raft of media speculation, Morrison took to Twitter to refute the accusations, insisting he has never rejected an offer from the club.
“I have never 1s (once) turned down a contract off Manchester United,” he wrote.
Morrison is believed to be out of contract in the summer, and the problems surrounding negotiations to an extension have alerted a number of clubs to his potential availability.
Ferguson last week confirmed Newcastle have had a bid rejected for the midfielder, while Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be monitoring his situation.
