Italian midfielder Thiago Motta is no closer to reaching an agreement over a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain chiefs, according to his official representative.
The highly rated footballer has been linked with a Serie A return of late, but he has made it clear that he would prefer to remain at Parc des Princes.
Motta currently has a contract until June 2015 with the Saints and his agent is negotiating a new deal, but it appears not everything is going according to plan.
The player’s representative has revealed that he has been thoroughly disappointed by the latest offer from the French giants.
“Honestly, we are still far from an agreement,” agent Alessandro Canovi confessed to L’Equipe.
“Thiago has the will to stay in Paris, but the club’s proposal does not give the impression that he is an important part of the PSG project.”
Thiago Motta has been in fine form since joining the club from Inter Milan, making a total of 37 league appearances and scoring 3 goals.
Paris Saint-Germain sit four points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after 13 rounds and they are regarded as hot favourites for the league title.
