Inter coach Jose Mourinho was delighted with the performance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s performance in the 2-0 win over Panathinaikos in Athens on Tuesday.
“Tonight I liked the result, the three points, and the grit of the team,” said the Nerazzuri boss to the press after the match.
“To win in the Champions League away from home is very difficult, and we had the personality to come here and win. We started well, and our objective is to reach 12 points in the group as soon as possible.”
On Ibrahimovic’s performance in the win, he added: “He did an incredible job.
“His commitment is an example of how to become an exceptional sportsman. His second assist was brilliant. Adriano did great to get into the space and he remained cool in front of the goalkeeper.”
The Swedish striker also commented on his performance in the match and his knee problem.
“It’s time to change history,†Ibrahimovic told Sky Sport Italia.
“The important thing tonight was to win and to make sure of the three points.
“On a personal level, this is my fifth game in just over two weeks and it is very important to me that my knee is improving.
“I’m hoping to play on Sunday and if I feel like I do today then I will be able to play well. The most important thing is to stay healthy.â€Â
