Mourinho demands new contracts for Mata & Herrera

According to reports in England, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is demanding that two fringe players – Ander Herrera and Juan Mata – are offered new contracts with the Red Devils. Mourinho’s thought process is that both players will be able to calm the ‘storm’ so to speak that is currently surrounding the club in the wake of their poor form recently. It seems as if he thinks that, under current circumstances, they won’t be able to do so without having guaranteed new contracts.

Mata and Herrera have both provided United with a handful of great moments since arriving at the club, but it seems as if they still aren’t considered to be vital pieces of the puzzle – at least, not on the pitch. If these reports turn out to be true, then Mourinho may be required to give them more starting time as a result of their commitment to the team.
