Jose Mourinho drops Rooney hint
Jose Mourinho doesn’t believe that Wayne Rooney will leave Manchester United, but is prepared to take action if the player becomes available for sale.
The Real Madrid boss admitted interest in Wayne Rooney, albeit saying that he didn’t expect the England international to leave Old Trafford.
“I think he will stay at Manchester United, Alex Ferguson will convince him. He belongs to the club, Old Trafford, the fans. However, if United decide to sell, call me,” said Mourinho.
The Portuguese welcomes the prospect of pairing Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney at Santiago Bernabeu.
“It would be tremendous to have him reunited with Cristiano, but my intuition tells me that he will continue at Manchester United.”
Jose Mourinho has thus tried to play down his interest in Wayne Rooney but everyone knows that Real Madrid would be the favourites to sign the striker should United decide to sell.

According to reports from Spain, Sir Alex Ferguson sees the Spain international as a perfect replacement for Rooney, who’s been widely tipped to leave the club.
Alex Ferguson’s brother, Martin has watched Llorente in action quite a few times and he was also seen speaking to the player on several occasions.
Athletic are thought to be holding out for €36 million for their star player, with United facing a stiff competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are also interested in his services.

Everton to have another go at Landon Donovan
David Moyes is hoping to sign Landon Donovan on loan in January after the USA captain impressed during his stay at Goodison last season.
The Everton boss is keen to add Donovan to the side with Tim Cahill set to miss most of January due to international duty and Steven Pienaar still unsure of his future at the club.
The player himself welcomed the Everton interest.
“It would be hard to say no.
”I really hope that, if it’s not this year, I get to go back there and play again. But if you asked me now I would lean towards a little more uncertainty.
”Last time when David Moyes called I was extremely excited about it and I just have to make sure that I get the appropriate rest.”
Donovan proved to be a great addition to the squad last season and with Moyes constantly having selection problems, the USA captain would again be more than welcome at Goodison Park.
