Jose Mourinho believes his La Liga triumph with Real Madrid was harder than any of his previous league titles.
Real secured the Spanish title on Wednesday as they beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 at San Mames, with goals from Gonzalo Higuain, Mesut Oezil and Cristiano Ronaldo – his 58th of the season – powering them to victory.
Mourinho previously guided Porto to the Portuguese league title on two occasions, won the Premier League twice with Chelsea and guided Inter Milan to Serie A glory twice as well.
Nevertheless, Mourinho sees the Liga title as the most difficult domestic trophy to win.
“I have previously won titles in Portugal, England and Italy, but this one in Spain is the hardest title so far. And I have even won titles on the last match day in the past. They didn’t give us any presents,” Mourinho told Real’s website.
“We have played football of the highest quality. It’s time to celebrate now. These players deserve it. The entire country has seen it and nobody will argue that we don’t deserve the title.
“I dedicate this title to anyone who has helped us achieve this, and who has suffered.”
Real Madrid sit seven points ahead of rivals Barcelona in the Primera Division table with two matches remaining.
