According to France Football, Jose Mourinho is monitoring Lucas Hernandez’s current situation at Atletico Madrid. The 22-year-old forward, who is now a World Cup winner after France’s triumph in Russia earlier this summer, has firmly established himself as one of the best young defenders in European football today.
Mourinho, who has had a rocky few months with Manchester United, has been attempting to add to their ranks from a defensive standpoint for months on end now. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to acquire several of his main targets, and when it comes to Lucas, it’ll be even harder for him to land the youngster.
Hernandez, who has been with Atletico since the age of 11, was said to have turned down an approach from Real Madrid during the summer in favour of staying with his boyhood club. If Mourinho wants to bring him to Old Trafford, he’ll have to do something special.
