Sky Germany is reporting that Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has dismissed the idea of Jose Mourinho joining the club, stating that the rumours lack any substance. The belief was that they had already spoken to him about possibly taking over from Lucien Favre, but Zorc seems to believe that isn’t the case. Mourinho has been waiting for a move back into management, and Germany seemed like it could be a fresh fit for him.
The Portuguese boss was last in charge of Manchester United before being sacked in favour of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over. Fans are split down the middle when it comes to figuring out whether or not Mourinho still has what it takes to function at a high level as a manager, but one thing that we all know to be true is that he is the kind of man that is able to have an immediate impact regardless of where he goes.
He’s hinted at staying in punditry for a while, though, so if there is any legitimacy to these claims, fans will have to wait a while before it becomes a reality.
