Mourinho rejuvenated my career – Marcelo

(GSM) – Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has hailed José Mourinho’s influence on him and says the Portuguese manager rejuvenated his career.

The Brazilian has always been criticized for poor defensive abilities and inconsistency, but he is delighted with his improvement under Mourinho this season.

“Mourinho has given my confidence a big boost,” Marcelo said.

“He has helped me a lot to improve defensively and with my aggression, which I did not have a great deal of.

“Now I go after each ball like a madman.”

Madrid are top of the Primera Division after eight games and remain the only unbeaten side in Spain.

The Galacticos lock horns visit newly-promoted side Hércules at Estadio José Rico Pérez on Sunday.
