AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho has made contact with Barcelona to inquire about the possibility of signing Hector Bellerin on loan, according to Sport. It came in the aftermath of the fallout between the Portuguese tactician and Rick Karsdorp after the 1-1 Serie A draw against Sassuolo. It appears the Dutch right-back has played his last game for the Giallorossi, with the manager and the club determined to offload him in January.
As for Bellerin, he spent the last season of his contract with Arsenal on loan at Real Betis and joined Barcelona as a free agent at the end of the summer window. Since the start of the term, he has made a total of just five appearances for the Catalan club, having missed as many matches through a muscle injury in October and spent the rest sitting on the bench. The contract the 27-year-old signed upon arriving to Camp Nou was only for a year, and there have already been reports suggesting Barcelona were seeking to get him off their books as soon as possible.
The loan move to Rome for the rest of the season appears possible for Bellerin, but the Serie A club will have to look for other solutions come summer, given that the former Gunner has already given his word to return to Betis when his contract with Barcelona expires.
