“My boss Mr Levy [Spurs chairman Daniel Levy] tells me that he wants Eric to sign a new contract and Eric tells me that he is more than happy here, he is more than happy with his situation,” Mourinho said.
“I hope that they can find an agreement, because I am taking the team in a certain direction.”
Those are the words of Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho who, as reported by Sky Sports, seems to be interested in keeping Eric Dier on the books beyond the end of his current contract.
Dier has impressed from a defensive standpoint since the Premier League’s restart, but it’s no secret that some fans aren’t overwhelmingly keen on seeing him play such a prominent role in the club’s starting XI.
Either way, though, all signs are pointing towards him staying, so long as Mourinho himself is able to keep hold of his job too.
