Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will attempt to sign Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, according to Marca.
Los Blancos have hardly impressed at the back this season and they are expected to sign at least one new defender.
With Alvaro Arbeloa the only right-back in the squad, Mourinho is eager to sign another right-sided defender, but preferably someone who can play in the heart of defence as well.
Marca claims that Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is a logical choice as he is equally adept at playing at both positions and he is someone Mourinho values highly.
The Serbian defender arrived at Stamford Bridge after Jose Mourinho had already left Chelsea for Inter, but the two could now get a chance to work together at Santiago Bernabeu.
Ivanovic’s experience at the biggest stage and his defensive qualities make him a perfect option for Real, but the problem is that Chelsea are not willing to let him go.
The Serbian international is seen as an important member of the squad at Stamford Bridge and it would take a huge offer for the Blues to even consider selling their star player.
