Inter Milan-coach Jose Mourinho has told his midfielder Wesley Sneijder that he wants him to play against Scotland on Wednesday.

The Dutch midfielder injured his ankle in the friendly game against Japan (3-0 win) on Saturday.

Sneijder has almost recovered from that injury and has stayed with the national squad to prepare for the qualifying match against Scotland.

`I trained painless on Monday. After that session I talked to Jose Mourinho and he wants me to play on Wednesday. It`s important for me to gain match practice,` Sneijder told De Telegraaf.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder moved from Real Madrid to Inter Milan two weeks ago. This season he only played two official matches, including the friendly against Japan.
