Mourinho won’t panic buy strikers in January

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the culb will not move for a new striker when the transfer window reopens, the Metro understands.

The Blues current selection of forwards – Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Andre Schurrle – have mustered a mere four goals between them in the Premier League this season, but their manager has insisted that the club will not be recruiting more attackers in January.

Colombia international Jackson Martinez has recently been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, while there has been constant bafflement from supporters as to why Romelu Lukaku was once again allowed to move out on loan this season.

Torres is set to lead the line against Southampton on Sunday afternoon with Eto’o ruled out for the next two weeks with a muscle injury.

The Spain international is available at a price of 5/1 to open the scoring against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
