Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been the subject of interest from Europe’s top sides, according to L’Equipe.
The 26-year-old was one of France’s star performers in the Euro 2016 knockout stages, with his excellent showing in the final making the headlines.
As a result, a number of high-profile clubs have expressed interest in his services, with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester City among them.
The problem is that Newcastle have increased their asking price to whopping €40 million, despite previously requesting around €20 million for his services.
Real Madrid appear to have puled out of the race to sign Paul Pogba and could make a move on his international teammate instead, as Sissoko is held in high regard by head coach Zinedine Zidane.
The player’s agent recently slammed Newcastle for trying to inflate the asking price in the light of Sissoko’s performances at the Euro 2016 finals, with the midfielder eager to leave the Magpies in search of greener pastures.
